Short Description
Holiday camps for children and adults with developmental delay.
More Details
CAMP JONATHAN for children 8 - 18 years with developmental delay is run once a year, the third week in January.
. It is an integrated camp in that non-disabled children also attend to be"special friends" to the disabled campers.
. It is preferable that children be toilet trained and able to keep themselves clean and dressed without help.
. There is always a doctor and at least one nurse in attendance at this camp.
. Their aim is to see that the children enjoy a camp programme as close as possible to a regular camp and that campers achieve their maximum potential in all aspects of the camp. Non-disabled camp helpers must be over 12 years.
CAMP DAVID is held 4 times a year, 2 camps being in April and 2 camps in November for one week.
. "Special Friends" are again provided to see campers enjoy themselves and achieve their maximum potential in camp activities.
. Participants should be able to keep themselves clean and dressed without help. Nursing staff are in attendance at the camp.
