Short Description
The Fusion Keyboard is a portable notetaker which features a large LCD screen with a choice of font sizes, word prediction, keyboarding tuition and optional text to speech. It is Windows and Mac compatible.
More Details
Fusion includes a word processor (with optional word prediction) and keyboard tuition.
Students log in to access their own documents (password protection is optional). Documents are named, and can be saved in folders if desired.
Battery
. Internal rechargeable battery included. Fully charged battery will provide approximately 30 hours of use.
Computer transfer
. Save text in Fusion's memory, then transfer it to your computer or printer by pointing it at an infrared receiver (included), and pressing send. T
. The text will be sent into any text based application on your computer - such as a word processor or email program.
. Text documents can also be uploaded from a computer to the Fusion via a CF card. Documents can then be read aloud (Text to Speech Package required).
Access
. Fusion has a full sized keyboard, similar to a laptop computer.
. The text is displayed on an LCD screen with optional backlight. You can choose from five font sizes - the smallest displays 10 lines of and the largest displays 3 lines of text on the screen.
. Word prediction is included in the system - this provides a suggested list of words as you type.
Speech
. Fusion Text to Speech package provides synthesised (computer generated) speech output of letters, words, sentences or an entire document.
. Speech output can be heard by plugging in either a headset or speaker.

Additional Comment
With the addition of an external speaker the fusion could be used as a speech generating communication device.
The Fusion can be navigated through the use of the menu key, escape key and arrow keys. The navigation methods are the same in each section, therefore simple to learn.
The Fusion automatically saves any changes each time a document is exited. This is a useful feature for users who may forget to save. However users may need to back up each version of a document when editing.
Documents from the Fusion can be transferred to a computer via the infra-red receiver. No additional software is necessary.
