Short Description
Car kits for PDAs (personal digital assistants) and organisers can be adapted to mount to a wheelchair and to also hold mobile phones. They have flexible arms to enable correct positioning for the user. The supplier does not fit the holders onto the chairs.
Models
The 'Arkon 15" Flex Steel Gooseneck' can be bolted to a wheelchair frame, but the cradle (phone holder) needs to be replaced with a smaller one because it isn't designed for mobile phones.
The 'Arkon Universal Windshield Mobile Phone Mount' is designed for a mobile phone, but the attachment (suction on standard) will need to be adapted so that it can be bolted to the wheelchair.
Standards
Some assistive technology needs to meet Australian or other standards. Standards may relate to materials, manufacturing and installation.
