Short Description
Caremate is a combined telephone and personal alarm call system that can be both call centre or nominated persons monitored. It consists of a hands free pendant and cordless phone, enabling the user to direct dial up to two telephone numbers. If there is no response, Caremate automatically connects the caller to a 24 hour monitoring service and converses through two way speak.

Monitoring Options
Nominated persons monitored
The system can directly dial up to two contact telephone numbers programmed in order of preference.

Call Centre monitored
If either of the preprogrammed contact numbers don't respond to the emergency call, the base unit will dial the Professional Response centre
Initially calls are handled by experienced triage staff
Registered nurses and doctors are available for escalation where required
If the situation is an emergency it is more likely that the appropriate emergency service will be called and followed through

Care Centre
The care centre holds pertinent medical information as provided by the client. This information is viewed by nursing staff and appropriate action can be taken from that.
The location of any keys and relatives or carers is clearly recorded.
The Care Centre is located in Sydney and is capable of service on a national basis

Testing Procedure
The operator (system user) is requested to test the unit as a minimum on a monthly basis
The Care centre will call the person if they have not tested the unit in regular intervals

Method Of Use
When the Assistance button on the pendant is pressed, the Caremate automatically attempts to call the nominated carers (family or friends).
If for some reason there is no contact with the carers, Caremate automatically connects the caller to their 24 hour, 7 day Care Centre for assistance.
The Care Centre will automatically register who the caller is so they can provide assistance (even if the caller cannot speak).
The system can be used anywhere there is a phone line and the caller ID of the person automatically displays the person's information before the operator picks up the phone
