Short Description
These systems have an alarm that can be activated to alert carers in the house, garden or property that assistance is required. In an emergency a button on the portable transmitter is pressed. This emits a radio signal to the receiver unit that is with or near the carer.

COMPONENTS
Transmitter
This can be a pendant or small unit with a button. Other styles include a plate switch (for people with reduced hand function), a tilt switch that activates if you fall over or a fixed switch placed inside your home.

Receiver Unit
A number of options are available. The receiver can be carried by the carer, mounted externally or inside a neighbours or the clients home. The receiver emits a sound, some have a light.


Options
Other options for alerting carers include wireless door chimes and personal alarms.
