Short Description

More Details
The non-spillable gel type wheelchair batteries do not have to be disconnected during travel. The battery terminals must be protected to ensure there is no possibility of a short circuit. (In accordance with Section 2.32.4 or the IATA DGR)
Other non-spillable batteries may be transported only with approval from Qantas. The battery must be disconnected, the battery terminals insulated to prevent accidental short circuits and the battery securely attached to the wheelchair or mobility aid.
Approval must be obtained for transport of spillable batteries.
