Short Description
A battery powered electric drive system which connects to a manual
wheelchair to provide the choice of self propulsion or electric drive on the one chair. Each system consists of two stub axle mounted
wheels containing the motors, one battery pack with carrying pouch, a
control unit with universal mounting, anti-tip bars with dual wheels and a mains charger and a power distribution unit.

Features:
. Suitable for folding or rigid frame chairs.
. Control unit can be mounted on left or right side or built into a tray. It can
also be fitted onto the push handles for operation by an attendant.
. The control unit can be programmed for precise control of direction and
speed of travel. Direction of travel is controlled by a joystick.
. Several types of axle plates are available to fit the e-fix wheels to
various wheelchair models.
. Batteries - are suspended in a hammock slung from the seat frame.
. Controls are anti-tremor.
. Proportional joystick control with a speed control dial.
. Has a combination mechanical and electrical brake.
. Battery charge indicator
. Can be used with Scalamobil for stair climbing.
. Can climb low kerbs.

To transport:
. Can be dismantled for transport without tools.

. 12 volt charging cable for a car (connect to cigarette lighter socket).
. Swivelling support for the control unit - useful when approaching a table.

. 310mm to 710mm diameter wheels.
. E-fix anti-tilt supports which mount onto rear of chair with two spring clip
pins. Each support has two wheels on the inverted V shaped base. The
base flips up if the chair is pulled backwards up a step / gutter.

Method Of Use
To assemble
Remove the wheels of the manual wheelchair; mount the e-fix wheels; put the battery pack in the bag designed for it and connect it by means of a quick connector; insert the control unit into its special holding device; plug it in.
Drive wheels - to connect to wheelchair, pull out handle on hub and line
· up axle and battery power connections with appropriate holes on axle plates.
Anti-tip bars must be positioned so that they hinge toward the chair.
Control mounts onto right or left armrest.
Security key immobilises chair if removed.

To operate electric drive system:
Turn wheel hubs to lock (anti free wheel).
Turn security key
Push on/off button - lights flash then green light stays on.
Red light flashes to give warning to release hand brakes.
Press red button to stop flashing.
Push joystick to move.

To push chair manually:
Turn wheel hubs to free wheel
