Short Description
This unit can be fitted between the seat and base of the Glide 6 or Glide 7 powered wheelchair. It acts as a scissor lift, lifting the seat straight upwards when the control lever is pushed. This lifts the seated person vertically by approximately 240mm when the control lever is pushed. The user can then reach items previously out of reach eg kitchen cupboards, shelves, filing cabinet, shop counters, etc. This unit could be fitted to other powered wheelchairs, and also to manual wheelchairs, on request.

More Details
SAFETY
When the seat is elevated, the wheelchair drive motor cuts out, preventing the user from driving the wheelchair while elevated - this is for safety reasons as the wheelchair would not be stable enough to drive safely with the seat elevated.

CONTROLS
A small battery powered control box is fitted to the front of the armrest. A small lever operates up/down movement.

RANGE
The lifting range is approximately 240mm above the original seat height of the wheelchair.
