Short Description
The Poirer Lever Drive wheelchair has 2 levers on either the right or left side of the chair. The small lever, near the wheel, selects forward, reverse or free wheel. The steering and propelling handle is further forward and extends up above the height of the armrest but is removable to allow the user to approach a table or side transfer to a chair or onto a bed. Operation of the lever drive requires strength and a high degree of skill to manoeuvre the chair. Available in seat widths of 41cm, 44cm and 50cm.

Method of use:
Select forward or reverse. Push steering lever forward and back to propel wheelchair. Turn steering lever to the right or the left which turns the castor manouevering the wheelchair in the desired direction.

Method of adjustment:
. There is an adjustment on the wheelchair to alter the mechanical advantage of the propelling mechanism. In the low position, the chair is very easy to propel on the level but if pushing up a slope, it needs to be raised which requires more strength to push the steering handle.

heel loops, capstan rims, seat belt. Contact suppliers for more details.

Chromed steel frame with blue vinyl upholstery.

Backrest:
The reclining backrest is operated by turning knobs on both sides of the backrest.

Footrest:
Swinging, detachable footrests or swinging, detachable, elevating legrests.

Arms:
Removable armrests, removable desk arms or removable height adjustable desk arms.

Rear wheels: .
610mm pneumatic or solid.

Pneumatic or solid.

Brakes:
1. Manual brake on opposite side to steering handle.
2. By pushing steering handle forward hard, there is a braking action on one wheel - but this requires a strength.
3. Standard chair will also have a squeeze grip brake on steering hanlde which will act on both wheels.
