Item Details

The Kneelsit

ILC Reference NO 41:25:012
Item sourced from ILC ACT database

Equipoise

Short Description
The Kneelsit has a forward slanting padded seat and supportive knee pad, both of which have a tilting mechanism to enable change in position. It has a metal sled type base on four castors and the seat has eight positions to accommodate individual thigh length. It is available with a backrest.

More Details
. The chair consists of an adjustable angle seat and kneeler, well
padded and covered in fabric.
. Eight position seat adjustments enables the user to choose the
particular setting and weight distribution to suit their needs. The kneeler has 3 adjustment positions for adjustment.
. This seating position apparently takes some of the weight (or
compressive force) from the spinal column and distributes it to the
thighs and lower legs. This may give relief to the muscles and tendons
which hold the back upright.
. The balanced axle mechanisms of the seat and kneeler allow the user
to work forward at the desk and still maintain correct alignment of the
spine.
. The cushioning on both the seat and kneel rest is made from Enduro foam in 3 densities. The densest foam is on the bottom, covered by the medium density with the least dense foam on the top for comfort.
. The chair can be adjusted so as to suit very short people - small children to very tall people, up to 6 foot 8 inches.

Method of Use:
. The distance between the seat and the knee pad can be adjusted by
taking the seat off the frame.
. Just below the left side of the knee pad, slide the small metal bar
horizontally to uncover the adjustment peg resting in the channel.
. Pull the whole seat sideways to remove the peg on the right side
from its hole (the metal plate on that side does not remove).
. Lift the seat into the channel which gives the required distance
between seat and knee pad.
. Slide right peg back into hole, and drop left peg back into chosen
channel.
. Slide metal bar back into place.

Models
. Standard - synthetic grey flecked fabric
. Deluxe - lambswool fitted covers
. Leather
. Children's - uses the same frame as the adult chair but an additional attachment allows the seat of the chair to move closer to the kneeler.
. Heavy duty - with heavy duty spring. This will bring the load capacity for the chair to 185 kg.
