Short Description
A chrome plated bed rail that can fit any bed. Consists of a chrome 'V' shaped structure that slides under the mattress. The 'V' attaches to an upright rectangular rail which is above the mattress height and enables the person to turn over or to assist themselves to sit up from a lying position.
Caution
The use of restraint affects a persons rights and dignity, and may remove or restrict their ability to move freely. Restraints can be an item of equipment or a management practice and should not be used as a substitute for supervision. In some cases, a restraint may increase a person's risk of physical harm.
Policies or practices of restraint in a residential care service should reflect any relevant legislation, codes of practice and professional standards. Legal advice on some issues may be appropriate.
