Item on Display
1 x C'Airecush Pressure Distributing Mattress Overlay and 1 x Hand Pump.

Short Description
This is an air flotation system that is designed to provide comfort and to assist in the prevention of pressure sores. Suitable for use by people who are at low to medium risk. It has four air chambers in two layers; each chamber has 48 baffles which are arranged in different patterns between top and bottom layers. Precise, restricted "throats" between baffles control the speed of the air movement and give stability.

More Details
An Australian designed, inflatable mattress overlay made from a
special PVC plastic, fire resistant to British Specification.
. It distributes pressure by supporting the user with the minimum amount of air.
. Air filled overlays have an advantage over traditional fibre filled products in that effectiveness does not reduce over time.
. A seam across the centre allows separate adjustment of inflation for body and legs, and means that the head or foot of the bed can be raised without reducing effectiveness.
. Single layer flaps are incorporated at each end to be tucked under the foot and head of the mattress to hold the overlay firmly in position, particularly when the user is in the sitting position.
. No motor, lightweight and portable.
. Impervious to fluids, but easily cleaned with soap and water.
. Can be adjusted to provide the maximum comfort to each individual.

Method of use
Evenly inflate all four chambers with air by use of hand pump. (NEVER inflate with oxygen). Place the overlay on the mattress so that it covers from the foot of the bed to the shoulder area. When pumping, count the number of strokes and put the same amount of air in each chamber. Inflate each chamber until about 75% full, when it will be slightly firm to the touch. Immediately insert stopper into inflator stem. When the user is lying on the overlay, it is easier to remove air than to add more air, so put more air than you think you will need in each chamber initially, and then adjust with the user in position.
