ILC Reference NO 21:14:024
Item sourced from ILC ACT database

Autoexcell Micro Air Loss System

Short Description
An alternating air mattress overlay that combines micro air loss with pressure relieving action. It is a mattress overlay which can be used in hospital and home environments, especially where excessive moisture build up is a problem and maceration of skin tissue must be reduced.
Designed for use by people who are at high risk of developing pressure ulcers and those with existing tissue damage up to and including Grade 3 Pressure Ulcers. It consists of a portable pump and mattress pad. Available in one size only.

Price Guide
Refer to supplier details for pricing.

More Details
Mattress
The mattress features individual cylindrical air chambers that span the full width of the mattress
The chambers press stud into place and are separate from the base of the overlay and each other so that they can be removed for cleaning and replaced if punctured
CPR release deflates mattress within 15 seconds

Pump
Portable slimline pump with audio/visual alarms,
Quiet and vibration free
Supplies air to each alternate chamber resulting in a ten minute cycle of alternative inflation and deflation

Micro Air Loss
The person's comfort and skin integrity can be severely compromised if excessive moisture is allowed to build up between the support surface and the user.
Micro air loss creates an osmotic gradient moving vapour away from the skin and keeping the person dry and comfortable
The gentle circulation helps in the reduction of humidity
Three air chambers at the head end remain at a constant pressure to minimise the sensation of movement for the user

Automatic Alternating Action
Gentle inflation and deflation for the support cells, allows oxygenation and nutrition of tissue to occur, preventing breakdown and enhancing healing
An Auto-Matt sensor pad automatically adjusts according to the user's movement and weight distribution thus providing optimum support for the person

Cover
Dartex cover which is vapour permeable, water resistant, bacteriostatic, and features two way stretch. It is removable and easy to clean. The two-way stretch, reduces shear and friction.

Servicing
Service infra-red link - for system tracking and servicing.

Additional Comment
- Remote control unit can recall data on the systems performance.
- Information can be obtained on recent alarm history, running hours since last service and total operating hours.
- The dynamic system has over 280 air changes per day.
- Fits standard hospital bed or single bed.
- PUMP has an on / off switch and an automatically operated pressure control. A light and audible alarm indicates low pressure.
- PUMP / MATTRESS CONNECTORS have a "snap lock" mechanism to minimise accidental disconnection.
- The EMERGENCY RELEASE Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is possible without having to remove the overlay from the bed. A pull ring release deflates the mattress in under 10 seconds to enable resuscitation procedures to be performed.
- The Autoexcel Mattress Overlay System is lightweight, portable and easy to use.

Warranty
- 2 years extended warranty on all parts and labour.

Maintenance
The overlay may be sponged down. Infection control guidelines are available. The pumps can be repaired. If an air chamber is punctured the whole air chamber can be removed and a replacement chamber press studded into place.
