Harvest Cavalier & Royal Mattress Replacement Systems

ILC Reference NO 21:14:013
Item sourced from ILC ACT database

Harvest Cavalier Mattress System

Short Description
Two electrically operated mattress replacement systems comprising an alternating overlay mattress on a modular foam base and a pump. The Cavalier pump has a manually operated analogue pressure control. The Royal pump has a digital control. The Royal Mattress is also available in a bariatric version and is wider than the standard size). These mattresses are suitable for people at high risk of pressure ulcer development.

Caution
All pressure reduction products must be monitored to prevent 'bottoming out'. This occurs when the user's weight bears down so hard on the product material that it is flattened and the bony parts are pressed against the surface below the cushion or mattress. Where bottoming out occurs even with correct use (eg correct inflation levels), a different product may need to be considered.
