Short Description
A 5cm wide, elasticised legband, featuring dual locking tabs to securely hold a foley indwelling catheter on the person's leg. The band maintains position on the leg whether the person is ambulatory or not. Secures all types of foley catheters including silicone and Teflon coated. It is a one size only product, designed to fit most people and is latex free.
More Details
The dual tab velcro locking device, anchors the indwelling catheter in place on the leg band. It stabilises the catheter without restricting the wearers movements and without causing skin irritation.
The Dale Foley Catheter Legband,
- is easy to apply
- eliminates the potential for skin breakdown and allergies to adhesive tapes.
- allows movement of the catheter's position.
- allows clinicians to "loop" catheter for greater comfort to prevent meatal movement in the urethra.
- allows surgeons to secure catheters with traction if desired, (e.g. post TURP).
- can be rotated to move meatal pressure point. Clinicians can teach patients to rotate the leg band 2.5cm in either direction as needed for better comfort.
Additional Comment
- The legband has a hypo-allergenic backing.
- Alternating leg on which catheter is worn may assist wearer comfort.
Contraindications:
Do not use on people with a history of diabetes, phlebitis or circulatory disease.
