Urocare Night Drain Bottle

Short Description
A urinary collection system for use with Foley indwelling catheters, male external catheters and urostomy applications. The system consists of a bottle, bottle cap, drainage tube with adaptor, anti-reflux valve, gasket ring and hooks for hanging. The bottle is made from rigid, high-density polyethylene and may be cleaned and reused many times.

More Details
- Ensure that bottle is always in the upright position during use. If it is pulled or tipped over, urine may leak from the vented bottle cap.

- The red anti-reflux valve (No. 6001) serves two purposes: one, as an anti-reflux valve and two, as a gasket to prevent leaking, therefore it is important that the valve remain in place during use. If the use of the anti-reflux valve is not desired, the use of Gasket ring (No. 6000) will be necessary to seal the threads of the top valve housing to prevent leaks.

Additional Comment
- The system is reusable.

- An easy-to-open cap with a large opening makes it easy to empty and clean.

- The system features the unique Urocare "Little Red Anti-Reflux Valve".

- The drainage tube is 1.52 metres (60") long and is made from a pliable clear vinyl.

- The bottle features two moulded finger holes for easy handling. To enable hanging of the bottle, two hooks can be anchored into the holes.

Method Of Use
FOR USE WITH FOLEY INDWELLING CATHETERS:
1. Remove the protective cap from the cone-shaped adaptor on the clear-vinyl drainage tube (No. 6060). Attach the outlet end of the catheter to the cone-shaped adaptor on the drainage tube.

2. Secure the opposite end of the clear-vinyl drainage tube to the Night Drain Bottle Adaptor (No. 6003).

3. Insert the anti-reflux valve (No. 6001) into the valve housing located at the top of the bottle cap (No. 4101).

4. Connect the adaptor (No. 6003) to the top valve housing and the bottle cap (No. 4101) to the drainage bottle.

FOR USE WITH MALE EXTERNAL CATHETERS:

3. Insert the anti-reflux valve (No. 6003) into the valve housing located at the top of the bottle cap (No. 4101).

4. Connect the adaptor (No. 6003) to the top valve housing and the bottle cap (No. 4101) to the drainage bottle (No. 410001).

5. After the catheter, drainage tube and bottle cap and bottle are connected, any air remaining in the catheter must be squeezed into the bottle. This will ensure that the one-way inlet valve is working properly and a siphon is more easily created when urine is passed. Priming the system with plain tap water before use will ensure an immediate siphon condition.

Cleaning Requirements
The best time to clean a urinary appliance is immediately after use. Rinsing alone does not clean a urinary appliance. Improper or inadequate cleaning can cause irreversible damage and discoloration of most urine collection systems which can also result in unpleasant odours.
Urocare recommend the use of Urolux urinary and ostomy appliance cleanser & deodorant. When this concentrated solution is mixed with water, it cleans and deodorizes urinary and ostomy appliances. Crystal build-ups are dissolved and unpleasant odours are eliminated.
