More Details
. The applicators could be useful for people with ulcerated legs, to prevent "dragging" the stockings on the legs. It could also be used for putting the bandage over a dressing.
. The stocking bandage is called a SHAPE SUPPORT STOCKING and is available in small, medium and large sizes.
. Retailed through chemists and surgical suppliers.

Method Of Use
. Pull the bandage onto the smaller frame and then place the smaller frame inside the larger frame, and with the large end of the stocking pull it over the larger frame.
. To apply the bandage to the leg, the patient puts her foot through the two frames which are held together, and pulled up to about the mid-calf level.
. The smaller frame is then pulled down and off the foot, and the large frame is pulled upwards until the stocking is removed from the frame. This method ensures that there is no dragging on the leg and also ensures a smooth fit.
. It is difficult at first to pull the bandages over the frames and it
requires considerable strength in the hands.
. If the hands are affected, an assistant may be required to do this part of the process.
