When purchasing a new or extra commode pan for an existing static or
mobile commode chair it is necessary to choose a pan of the same
dimensions and style as the original to be sure it will fit the chair's pan holder or seat aperture.

. The colour and shape of the original pan - may assist with identifying the
type.
. The diameter of the seat hole or width of holding brackets.
. A lid and carrying handle is an advantage when transporting the pan.
. Material is usually plastic which can be sterilised but stainless steel
