Factors to Consider
· It may be helpful to refer to Australian Standards AS/NZS 4370: 1996 Restraint of children with disabilities in motor vehicles to assist in deciding the safest way to transport a child with a disability.
· This item is designed to provide additional support for the user while sitting in a vehicle. It is required to be used in conjunction with the existing vehicle seatbelt. If this item impedes the vehicle seatbelt in any way, a letter from a doctor may be required to outline the need for this modification to the car seat restraint. Short Description
This harness is designed to provide postural support and is not a substitute for a general purpose child harness in a vehicle. It is available in two sizes, small for children from 14 to 32 kilograms, and large for children and adults over 32 kilograms. It features a strap over each shoulder, a chest strap which envelops the trunk and loops for the placement of a vehicle lap belt or lap sash combination. The harness buckles to an adjustable tether strap which is anchored in the vehicle.

Features
The harness is available for both cars and buses.
48mm wide webbing is used in the harness.
Webbing in the neck area has been folded over to enhance comfort.
An anti submarine/crutch strap is optional to minimise sliding down and forward movement.
For lap sash belts, a gated buckle can be used to convert the belt to a lap style belt.
A tether extension strap is optional.

Safety and Maintenance
Refer to supplier/manufacturer manual and instructions for all safety and maintenance details with particular reference to fitting the harness to the user in conjunction with the existing seat belt, and installation of the harness in the vehicle.
