Tadvic Fully Enclosed Bed

Factors to Consider
This bed is designed to have no entrapment points, hard surfaces or protrusions.
This bed aims to have no features which could be picked at or tampered with by the occupant.
Designed for adults or children.

Short Description
A fixed height, single size, wooden bed with a woven mesh surround designed to prevent occupants from falling out of bed or entrapping body parts in bed rails. The mesh is attached to four wooden bedposts. These are hinged to the side to allow the occupant to get in and out of the bed. This hinge mechanism can be locked. It has a foam mattress with a water resistant Mediflex cover as standard. The side of the bed frame is hinged to assist making the bed. Mattress height from the ground can be customised.

More Details
Frame
The wooden frame is made from pine with a headboard and footboard.
The bed base is slatted.
The four legs form upright poles which extend approximately 1200mm above the bed base.
Mesh is attached to two frames which are attached to the four posts at mattress height and near the top of the posts. The mesh is continuous around the perimeter of the mattress.
On each side of the mattress are four pieces which press firmly against the sides of the mattress. This holds the mesh against the mattress.
The bed can be dismantled for transporting.

Materials
Wooden frame is made from pine and finished with a clear satin Estapol. It can be stained to suit other furniture.
The mesh is of open weave and is fire resistant. It is called Truck Tarp Mesh.

Mattress
The manufacturer recommends certain dimensions for the mattress. This size is important so there is no gap between the mattress and the mattress restraints which may cause entrapment of body parts.
A foam mattress with a water resistant Mediflex cover is supplied as standard, but other mattress options can be used.

Features
The lower part of the frame with the mesh attached is hinged on one side. This allows it to be lifted providing access on one side for tasks such as transfers or attending to the occupant. When open, there is a prop at each end to hold it open. When lowering the surround, it can be held down and tightened using two sets of buckles with webbing.
The side part of the frame which surrounds the mattress is hinged to fold down. This allows access to the mattress to make the bed. When up, it can be locked in position using a latch.
