Item sourced from ILC SA database

Lift 'N' Scoot

Short Description
A steel frame, vehicle mounted electronically operated lifter for a powered wheelchair or scooter. Designed to lift a wheelchair or scooter into the back of a van or station wagon. Available in a range of models.

Price Guide
Refer to supplier information for pricing details.

More Details
This epoxy coated steel lifter is anchored to the rear floor surface or a van or station wagon. It is suitable for use with most vans and station wagons.

This lifter is installed to connect to the car or van motor and does not require charging.

The lifter attaches to a wheelchair or scooter via two adjustable lifting straps with clasps which attach to anchor points which needs to be installed on the wheelchair or scooter.

The controller is located on an extendable cord and features push button operations for vertical, horizontal, left, right, in and out functions (depending on the model).

Method Of Use
1. Open the rear doors or tail gate to allow access.
2. Park wheelchair/scooter as close and parallel to the rear bumper as possible. The direction that it faces will depend if it has to go into the vehicle forwards or backwards.
3. Hold the control panel and swing the Lift 'N' Scoot out as far as it will travel by pressing the LEFT button.
4. Lower the arm by pressing the DOWN button so it is close enough to be connected to the lifting points on the wheelchair/scooter and hook up the lifting straps accordingly.
5. Put the wheelchair/scooter into freewheel and disengage manual parking brakes so it can be moved easily by hand. Raise the wheelchair/scooter by pressing the UP button to a point above the rear floor of the vehicle. This may be achieved by using both UP and OUT operations simultaneously.
6. Once at the appropriate height, swing the wheelchair/scooter in to the back of the vehicle by pressing the RIGHT button.
7. Lower and/or retract the Lift 'N' Scoot so the weight of the wheelchair/scooter rests on the vehicle floor.
8. Slight manual manoeuvring may be required to push the wheelchair/scooter back far enough to close the rear door(s).
9. Place the controller back in it's resting place and close the rear door(s).
