Factors to Consider
The wheelchair front castors may be raised when attached to the Swiss-Trac allowing the user to cope with rough terrain.
No need for the user to transfer into a powered wheelchair. The Swiss-Trac is attached to the front of the existing wheelchair.
It is important to remember to release the brakes on the wheelchair before operating the Swiss-Trac.
The wheelchair and Swiss-Trac together will have a large turning radius.
The Swiss-Trac may be operated with the front wheels up or touching the ground. When changing between the two positions i.e to overcome an obstacle, the handle position will change . This may be disconcerting for some users as they are becoming familiar with the equipment.
This item should be trialled in the user's own environment to ensure maximum safety and independence. Environmental considerations include eg: kerbs, footpaths, tram and railway crossings, street crossings, etc.

Short Description
The Swiss -Trac is an aluminium power unit which attaches to most folding and rigid frame manual wheelchairs using a specific bracket. It converts a manual wheelchair to allow the user to operate it as a powered wheelchair with a central tiller control. There are accessories available. There are models available for adults and children. It is customisable. The Swiss Trac is available in four colours, black, red, blue and green.

Attachment
Detailed instructions for attaching the bracket to the wheelchair are provided.

A handyman can attach the bracket to the wheelchair.
Wheelchair brackets are available for most manually propelled wheelchairs on the market.
To disconnect the Swiss-Trac from the wheelchair, press the quick release lever.
On folding wheelchairs the bracket is removed, by removing two pins.
Two small cases are left on the frame, however, these do not hinder the folding of the wheelchair in any way.
