More Details
TRANSMITTER
The water resistant transmitter can be worn around the neck or on the wrist. It has a button that can be pressed in an emergency and a range of approximately 30m.

RECEIVER UNIT
The receiver unit can be plugged into the user's own telephone using a mode 3 socket, which enables the unit to dial even if the telephone is off the hook. A touch tone telephone is required.

The unit has an optional 12 volt battery back up, up to 180 seconds of recording time and can utilise the user's own voice for the recorded message which can be easily programmed into the unit. Alternatively the supplier can preprogram the unit's alert message and contact numbers for the user before delivery (at no extra cost).Up to six contact numbers can be programmed into the unit, and the unit will accept up to a maximum of sixteen digits per telephone number.

When the unit is activated a small red light on the front of the unit will indicate that the unit is operating.

MONITORING OPTIONS
In an emergency the unit can be activated by pressing the button on the pendant. The unit will then clear any calls that may be in progress and dials the programmed emergency contact numbers.
When a call is answered, the emergency contact person will hear a pre recorded message (e.g. using the user's own voice). To accept responsibility for the call, the emergency contact person keys in a code (presses the number three button) on their phone for three seconds, to cancel the call. This enables the support person to return the call to check the situation and rule out false alarm. The call can also be cancelled on the receiver unit by pressing the small Key/SW switch on the front of the unit.

The unit will scan through the list of contact numbers six times or can be programmed for more or fewer repeats. Each telephone contact will be dialed in the order that they have been programmed into the unit. After the unit has completed its alarm call sequence, the alarm light will stop flashing and remain on and steady, confirming that the unit has been activated.

If the emergency call goes through to a number which is linked with an answering machine, the call will not be cancelled as the machine is unable to key in the required code, and will continue to the next emergency support number on the list.

TESTING PROCEDURE
To test the unit the user first contacts their emergency contact people to advise them that they are going to do a test call. The unit can then be tested by pressing the button on the pendant.

SINGLE / MULTIPLE USER SITUATION
Multiple pendants can operate off one unit.
