PREREQUISITE SKILLS
The walker is designed for use by children, aged 2 - 8 years, who have head control, unsupported and independent sitting balance, plus an ability to weightbear and step when supported at the pelvis.
BASE consists of a rectangular shaped steel framed base, with an open front and castors on the four corners. Each corner of the base has a bumper to prevent damage to walls / furniture etc. It has a grey powder coated finish.
CASTORS The front two, 120mm castors swivel, but can be fixed for early training. The rear, solid black rubber castors are fixed. They have a ratchet system which prevents backward movement.
PELVIC SUPPORT FRAMEWORK From the base extends two, height adjustable, uprights into which the pelvic support framework (pelvic stabilizer) is mounted. The pelvic stabilizer provides multi adjustable componentry to the pelvis, which supports the pelvis during walking. The child's hands are free, the upper body is unsupported. This framework is height adjustable by loosening large grip screw knobs.
It comprises a central pad at the back, two side pads and two groin bars to secure the pelvis in all planes. It can be adjusted in width and depth. The pads are covered in vinyl and the groin bars have a foam and neoprene covering. The groin bar can be adjusted in angle using an Allen key.
DISMANTLING The walker can be dismantled for transport by folding the vertical bar of the frame down to the horizontal position.
CUSTOMISATION - The walker is available in two sizes:
- Small Size
- Medium Size.
However the walker can be customised to suit individual need.
