More Details
Lace up shoes can be adapted by a shoemaker to fasten with either snap fasteners or hook and loop tape. The appearance of the shoe is maintained, but the need to tie laces is alleviated.
This adaptation involves making a leather flap (with laces already tied) to match the appearance of the shoes. This is fastened to the shoes at the side or at the base of the front opening. Hook and loop tape or snap fasteners are applied to hold the flap closed.
