Factors to Consider
This powered wheelchair is designed to be dismantled for transport and storage.
This item should be trialled in the user's own environment to ensure maximum safety and independence. Environmental considerations include eg: kerbs, footpaths, tram and railway crossings, street crossings, etc.
Short Description
A rear wheel drive powered wheelchair with a folding frame which is designed to be dismantled and transported in a vehicle. It is primarily for indoor use but can be used for limited outdoor use. It consists of a padded slung seat on an aluminium frame with joystick controller. The motors can be disengaged to use the chair as an attendant propelled wheelchair. One seat width is available, in adult size. The single piece flip up footplate is height adjustable.

Frame
The base is a rigid, black powder coated aluminium frame which dismantles for transport.
The seat is removable and can fold for transport.
Two rear anti tip bars with rollers are removable as standard.
Seat
Black padded slung style with an open carry bag under the seat.
One seat size only.
The backrest and seat upholstery are one piece.
The seat dismantles from the base and will fold for transport.
Upholstery
Padded black canvas upholstery.
Backrest
Slung padded canvas style backrest.
Backrest has a fixed angle.
Backrest will fold down when the seat is dismantled from the base.
The push handle is made of the upper frame of the backrest so it can be attendant propelled. The upper part of the upholstery is attached to the frame using hook and loop (Velcro). This can be used to provide higher back support when used as a powered wheelchair.
Armrests
Full length armrests which are fixed in position.
An armrest pocket is on both armrests.
Legrest and Footplate
Height adjustable, lift up footboard made from aluminium. One size only.
Fixed, one piece footboard which sits at approximately ninety degrees from the front of the seat.
Wheels
Pneumatic tyres as standard.
Quick release wheels.
Castors
Solid rubber castors.
Controls
Proportional, programmable joystick control mounted to the front of either armrest. It is a Dynamic controller.
Dial speed control.
On off button is to the rear of the joystick.
Horn is in front of the joystick.
Battery charge is indicated by lights behind the joystick.
Batteries
Two closed cell batteries are used.
These use a 3amp 24 Volt charger.
Motor
Motors disengage by using a lever in front of each wheel. This can totally remove the motors so it will wheel independently.
Transport and Dismantling
The seat can be removed from the base by unlocking three pins, and unplugging the control box. The seat will then fold flat for storage.
The battery pack unplugs and can be lifted off at the rear using an attached carry handle.
