FEATURES
Physical Description
This unit allows single switch and scanning access to control a range of household appliances.
The Mini Relax is a rectangular hand held infrared remote controller.
At one end of the device is the infrared transmitter panel which must be in the line of sight of the appliance to be operated.
On the display panel of the unit there is a column of 6 red light emitting diodes (LEDs) with corresponding labels ON/OFF, (Up) Channel, (Down) Channel, (Up) Volume, (Down) Volume and Quiet. These labels are arbitrary and may be altered to suit individual choice of appliance to be controlled. Each label is a solid contrasting colour.

Access
The Mini Relax must be in the line of sight of the appliance to be controlled.
When the switch is pressed, the column of red lights (indicating the appliance and/or function to be controlled) is scanned through twice, illuminating each light one at a time.
When the light that corresponds to the desired appliance or function label is illuminated, the switch is pressed and held down for 2 seconds. An infrared signal will be sent to the appliance.
The scanning speed may be adjusted using the rotary control accessible through a small hole on the side of the device. A small screwdriver may be placed through the hole and turned to increase or decrease the scan speed.
The Mini Relax is programmed to scan automatically (described above).
Inverse scanning is available on request from the manufacturer.
Using this mode of control, the user presses the switch and maintains switch closure while each light is illuminated in turn.
When the light that corresponds to the appliance/function to be operated is illuminated, the switch is released to select that function.

Installation
The Mini Relax requires programming and a 9 volt battery for operation.

Programming
To program this device, the slide switch on the side of the unit must be moved from Use to Train.
Place the standard remote control of the appliance to be operated Nose to Nose with the Mini Relax infrared transmitter on a flat surface.
Select the LED location you wish to program by activating a switch.
Press and hold the desired function on the standard remote control (for example, Power) until the Mini Relax emits a beep.
The button is then released and that function is programmed and ready to use.
When programming is complete, move the slide switch to the Use position again.

Power Source
The Mini Relax uses a 9 volt battery placed in the compartment in the back of the device.
The appliances to be controlled need to be plugged into own power source.

Safety and Maintenance
Refer to supplier/manufacturer manual and instructions for all safety and maintenance details.

Australian Standard
For some types of equipment, specific Australian Standards are applicable to the materials used in and the manufacturing processes applied to products. Compliance with relevant Standards is indicated by written certification that a product has been tested and assessed as compliant with specified Australian Standards. Purchasers are advised to check with the supplier or manufacturer of an item as to its compliance with the relevant Australian Standard(s).

CONSIDERATIONS FOR USE
The Mini Relax provides both visual and auditory scanning, which may be beneficial for a user with limited vision.
The user must have the ability to sustain switch press for 2 seconds for transmission of a signal.
The delay time after the first scan step is longer than the delay after the following scan steps. This makes it easier to select the first location.
The device is available in either automatic or inverse scanning modes allowing selection of the mode most suited to the ability of the user.
