FEATURES
Physical Description
The One for All Lite remote has an appearance similar to a TV remote control.
Pressing the Lite key on the keypad allows the user to illuminate the entire keypad. Each time a key is pressed, the keypad lights up for 5 seconds. Note that the batteries have less life with the Lite feature active.
The keys on the keypad contrast with the black base when the keys are illuminated.
There are small appliance keys at the top of the remote, near the power key and illuminating key.
The volume and channels are controlled through larger wedge shaped keys.
The number keys are large and easily visible and the VCR control keys are at the lower end of the remote.
The battery compartment is on the back or underside of the unit.
The infrared transmitter is at one end of the controller and must be in the line of sight of the appliance to be operated.

Access
Any of the device keys may be altered to be any of the other device keys (for example, changing the TV key to operate the VCR) by following the directions in the user manual.
By using a particular sequence of key presses, most functions of the commercial remote that comes with an appliance may be operated using the One For All remote.
A red LED (Light Emitting Diode) on the keypad flashes to show the remote is working.
To prevent accidental recording in VCR mode, the Record key must be pressed twice to start recording.
For those televisions capable of showing teletext, these functions may also be accessed using the remote.

Installation
The remote recognises a set code for different brands of TVs and VCRs and these are used to program the device. The manual describes the process to set the codes for the particular brand in use.
Note
Some Australian brands of TVs and VCRs may not be compatible with the pre programmed codes.

Programming
The keys on the keypad are used in programming appliances to be controlled.
The manual describes step by step process for programming each appliance code.
The red LED will flash a set number of times to indicate that programming is successful.

Power Source
The One For All uses 4 x AAA alkaline batteries. Rechargeable batteries not recommended by the manufacturer.
Note
After removing the batteries, new batteries need to be inserted within 3 minutes to avoid losing all programming.

Safety and Maintenance
Refer to supplier/manufacturer manual and instructions for all safety and maintenance details.

Australian Standard
For some types of equipment, specific Australian Standards are applicable to the materials used in and the manufacturing processes applied to products. Compliance with relevant Standards is indicated by written certification that a product has been tested and assessed as compliant with specified Australian Standards. Purchasers are advised to check with the supplier or manufacturer of an item as to its compliance with the relevant Australian Standard(s).

CONSIDERATIONS FOR USE
The key pad can be illuminated by pressing the Lite key allowing the unit to be used in the dark.
The number keys, volume and channel control keys and VCR control keys are large and easy to read, however, the keys and their corresponding labels for TV, VCR, SAT and AUX are small and require good vision to locate.
The keys must be held down for approximately a second to activate the function required.
