Short Description
A backrest which is angle and depth adjustable on the wheelchair. Will also mount onto a wheelchair either narrower or wider than the backrest. The backrest features a hard, contoured shell, with an air / foam cushion overlay and cover. The backrest attaches to the rear posts of the wheelchair, replacing the slung backrest, using mounting hardware provided. Available in a range of widths from paediatric to bariatric and in regular, tall and deep sizes.

Evolution Back Support:
The back support has angle and depth adjustment on the wheelchair and will also mount onto a wheelchair either narrower or wider than the backrest. The backrest attaches to the rear posts of the wheelchair, replacing the slung backrest, using mounting hardware provided. Available in a range of sizes.
Evolution Back Deep:
Has deeper contouring than the Evolution Back and extra lateral support. It is useful for people with fair to poor trunk control.
Both these back supports are made from aluminium and trimmed with rubber edging. The shell is designed to handle users up to 115 kg. The cushion uses air and foam floatation technology and can be inflated or deflated with the turn of a valve. The cushion is thickest along the vertebral column.
Hardware
The backrest has four attachment points onto the rear posts of the wheelchair. The backrest allows for growth, also up to 15 degrees of angle adjustment and 50mm of seat depth. The mounting hardware can be added / removed one handed, as stated by the manufacturer.
Shell
Contoured sides provide lateral support. Will accept Varilite hip belts and lateral supports. A flat back panel accommodates flush mounting of headrest hardware.
Air / Foam cushion
An overlay foam cushion sits in front of the backrest shell. It features a deep foam component which runs the length of the cushion, for comfort along the spine. The foam cushion is self inflating with air.
Cover
A synthetic mesh, foam padded cover which is breathable and wicks moisture away from the body. The cover is washable.
The backrest is available as a regular back or a tall back.
