Factors to Consider
There are many things to consider when selecting pressure care products including nutrition, skin moisture, level of mobility, age, shear, friction, location of pressure ulcer (if present) and hygiene. Jay cushions are designed to fit the individual dimensions of the user. Sunrise Medical are able to add foam rails to their Jay range of cushions to extend seat width or depth. This may assist if the dimensions of the user and the wheelchair vary. This can be completed at no additional cost at time of ordering.
Short Description
The Jay Active Cushion features a contoured foam base and fluid pad at the rear of the cushion which is enclosed in a urethane covering. The manufacturer states that it is designed for an active user who requires mild to moderate positioning and moderate to high skin protection. It has a curved base to accommodate slung upholstery and a removable air permeable cover.

The Air Exchange (air permeable) cover features a slip resistant base, handle and concealed pocket. An incontinence cover is also available.

Cleaning Requirements
Both the exterior cover and foam base cover can be removed and machine washed. Leg wedges should first be removed from the base cover.
The internal foam base should not be cleaned, as it will retain moisture and soap.
