FEATURES
Features
The gel will not leak if plastic covering is punctured.
The gel will not absorb urine, body fluids or odours.
The pads are on a non slip base.
Users will not bottom out on gel pads.
May add significantly to the overall weight of a wheelchair.
These cushions contain an elastomer gel, not a fluid medium.
A large range of sizes are available upon request.

The Professional
Made entirely of gel, this pad has an increased depth to reduce the possibility of the user bottoming out.

The Pilot (standard model)
Made from gel only.

The Centurian
The 16mm gel pad is bonded to 16mm of firm urethane foam.

The Commuter
This has a 12mm layer of gel over a 45mm layer of firm urethane foam.
Reduced pressure relieving qualities.
This may make a good pad for those who require a cushion for comfort.

Directions for Care.
The pads should be used and stored only in a horizontal position.
Knit covers are used for ventilation and to protect pads from the sun.
If the skin of the pad is broken, talcum powder can be applied to the exposed area to remove tackiness.
Small cuts or punctures may be repaired with pressure sensitive tape, Opsite or Tegederm.
Outer fabric, stockinette covers and incontinent covers are removable and washable.
The action pads may be washed with soap or detergent and water.
The pads and incontinent covers can also be sanitized with disinfectant.

CONSIDERATIONS FOR USE
Gel pads may assist in minimizing vibration.
There are many things to consider when selecting pressure care products including nutrition, skin moisture, level of mobility, age, shear, friction, location of pressure ulcer (if present) and hygiene. Any comments regarding level of pressure care is a suggestion made by suppliers as a guide to assist with selection, and this may differ from brand to brand. When selecting pressure care products it is strongly advised that a comprehensive assessment is undertaken by a health professional to encourage correct product selection and monitoring of product effectiveness.
