SAS8500 Platypus Tilt in Space

Short Description
This folding manual wheelchair for children and adolescents consists of an aluminium and steel frame. It is available in 8 sizes and has some allowance for growth. The wheelchair features an angle adjustable backrest, armrests, swing away footrests and a solid seat and backrest with cushions. A range of options are available.Tie down points for transportation can be added as an option.

More Details
Frame
The frame is folding and is a combination of aluminium and steel components.
The frame is available in the colour choice of blue, red and black.
Removable anti tip bars with rollers are featured at the rear of the frame.
A single cross brace is featured.
A tie down restraint system is available for vehicle transit.
Tilt in space is included.

Adjustment
The seat depth is able to be extended by up to 76mm.
The seat width is able to increase by changing the size of the cross brace underneath the frame.
The push handles are height adjustable.
The backrest is angle adjustable.
The armrests and footplates are height adjustable.
There are multiple adjustments for the rear wheel position.

Seat
The solid seat features an upholstered foam cushion.
A swing away pommel in 5 sizes is available.
A pelvic lap belt is standard.
Hip pads and side guards are optional.
A 2 or 4 point pelvic belt is optional.
A groin strap is optional.
There is a choice of seat widths including 254mm, 279mm, 305mm, 330mm, 355mm, 381mm, 406mm and 432mm.

Backrest
The backrest features a solid support with upholstered foam cushion.
The push handles are behind the backrest and are height adjustable. Attendant brakes mounted on the push handles are optional.
A headrest support is an option and is available in 10 sizes and various shapes. It is mounted on a ball joint enabling rotation and angle adjustment. It is also adjustable in height and depth.
Swing away adjustable lateral supports are also available in the choice of 7 sizes. There is some flex in the supports to allow for limited contouring and various shapes are available.
A shoulder harness is optional. Alternatively solid shoulder bar supports are also available.
The angle of the backrest is able to be set to various positions.

Armrests
The armrests are height adjustable and are able to fold upwards.

Legrests
The legrests are able to swing away and can be removed from the frame.
A calf strap is optional.

Footplates
A Single piece footplate is available.
The standard footplates flip upwards.
They are height and angle adjustable.
Heel loops and ankle straps are optional.

Wheels
The wheels feature a quick release mechanism.
A multiple position axle plate is featured.
Pneumatic tyres.
