SHORT DESCRIPTION
An Australian made air bed that incorporates a chair and a mobile bed. The steel frame is covered in high density foam upholstery. The backrest has multi adjustable side wings and a push handle and lever for attendant control. A gas strut assisted recline and tilt in space feature provides alternative seated positions. Also available in a smaller model.

Castors
Three locking castors which are standard and one directional.

Method of Operation
1. Three gas struts each operating a separate part of the unit.
2. Manoeuvre the angle to the desired position and release the brake.
3. The gas strut will automatically lock into position.
4. Left brake handle (labelled BACK) operates the angle of the back from vertical (seated) to horizontal (lying down).
5. Right brake handle (labelled SEAT) operates the tilt of the seat from roughly horizontal to 45 degrees of tilted back.
6. Legrest handle (underneath legrest, right hand side facing) operates the legrest to desired position.
7. All gas struts are set to operate with users in the bed/chair.
8. All movements operate smoother with the added weight of a user, provided the item is the appropriate size for the user’s needs.

Adjustment of drop down arm or wings
1. Pull the spring loaded pin at the top the wing, and move the wing to one of four positions.
2. The pin will spring back into the hole, locking the wing.
3. Fully opened is for side loading.

CONSIDERATIONS FOR USE
Air Comfort mobile chair/beds are designed for fully dependent users with limited mobility.
Multi adjustable wings may assist with side transfers.
There are many things to consider when selecting pressure care products including nutrition, skin moisture, level of mobility, age shear, friction, location of pressure ulcer (if present) and hygiene. Any comments regarding level of pressure care is a suggestion made by suppliers as a guide to assist with selection, and this may differ from brand to brand. When selecting pressure care products it is strongly advised that a comprehensive assessment is undertaken by a health professional to encourage correct product selection and monitoring of product effectiveness.
