SHORT DESCRIPTION
A steel framed chair with plastic strapping upholstery designed to provide pressure reduction. It features a static base with a seat designed to glide in a forward and backward motion. The seat automatically locks in position (to prevent the gliding motion) when the occupant begins to sit into or stand up from the chair. Padded vinyl cushioning for the seat, backrest and side panels are included in a variety of colours. Three adult sizes are available.

FEATURES
Frame
Tubular steel featuring a solid base with four splayed legs.
Two rear transport wheels allow the unoccupied chair to be tipped back and moved from place to place.
Seat and Backrest
PVC strapping upholstery is designed to conform to the occupant shape, and reduce heat and moisture build up.
Padded vinyl cushioning for the seat, backrest and side panels are included in a variety of colours.
A vinyl covered, padded neck cushion is standard on the high back option, and attaches to the backrest with hook and loop (Velcro).
Two pockets with flaps secured by hook and loop (Velcro) are attached to the external sides of the chair.
Armrests
These are height adjustable, and extend past the end of the seat.
Customisation
The amount of density of padding in the lumbar and neck sections of the backrest and seat is available..

Fixed wing supports on each side of the backrest.
Adjustable shoulder bolsters.
Brake operated by the occupant in the chair.
Seat and backrest cushions.
All in one vinyl cushion.

CONSIDERATIONS FOR USE
The gliding mechanism may provide a calming effect for occupants who may be agitated, disorientated, or who like the sensory feeling of movement.
The auto locking mechanism is designed to prevent the gliding system from moving when getting in or out of the chair.
An optional brake can be applied and released by the occupant.
The gliding mechanism can provide exercise for the lower limbs and assist circulation, which may be useful for some with swollen legs.
There is clear space under the seat between the legs to allow for foot placement for transfers.
An attendant can lock the glide mechanism if required.
