More Details
Main Features to Consider:-
. Soft touch controls - These are easier to use than manual push button
controls for the most commonly used controls - "play",
"fast forward" and "reverse".
. Manual controls - Are usual for the less commonly used controls of
volume, Dolby sound, music search, balance etc.
- Dials, especially those with a cross bar to enhance
grip, may be easier to use than slide controls which
are very small.
. Size of controls - The larger the buttons, dials or push pads the easier
they are to use and the less likely the user is to
make an error. Often the spacing of the controls
further apart allows for greater accuracy in
activation of the chosen control.
. Marking on control panels - May be helpful or confusing. Large prints/
numerals, well contrasted and spaced is preferable to
an excess of print.
Secondary Features to consider:-
. Auto reverse . Auto stop
. Music search . Auto tape select - important for recording to know if the tape is metal, chrome etc.
. Dolby sound . Headphone outlets - most models are equipped with this feature
Double Well cassette decks are important if the user wants to do a lot of taping from one tape to the other. The models with separate functions for each well may be less confusing for the user.
