Short Description
Self inflating cushions comprising polyurethane foam encased in a sealed PVC envelope. Shape and thickness are adjusted to suit individual needs by admitting or expelling air through a specially designed valve. The cushion moulds to the body's contours. The removable outer cover is three way stretch fabric with a slip resistant base. Single and dual cell models are available.

Cushions are lightweight and are designed to mould to the user's individual body contours, providing weight distribution and pressure reduction.

CONSTRUCTION
Archi Air wheelchair cushions comprise an inner cell or cells, which are upholstered in three way, stretch fabrics with a slip resistant base. Inner cells are manufactured with a heavy duty, fire resistant polyurethane foam, encased in reinforced PVC.

ADJUSTMENT
A press button pneumatic valve is fitted to each of the cells to facilitate easy adjustment. The use of multiple inner cells provides variable options that can be tailored to provide customised support and positioning for people with spinal or pelvic distortion.

COVER:
Outer cover may be removed for dry cleaning.

Factors To Consider
All cushions must be monitored to prevent 'bottoming out'. This occurs when the user's weight bears down so hard on the product material that it is flattened and the bony parts are pressed against the surface below the cushion. Where bottoming out occurs even with correct use (eg correct choice and depth of foam, correct inflation level) , a different product may need to be considered.
