Short Description
Food processors are designed to do a number of tasks in the one unit; mix, blend, shred and chop. In addition some have options of kneading, citrus pressing and juice extraction. Blenders are designed to mix, blend and chop, and are suitable mainly for soft foods and liquids.

POINTS TO CONSIDER :
. What do you require the unit to do?
What will be its main use?
. Ease of assembly / disassembly. Food processors have more components to assemble and disassemble for cleaning. Can it be managed one handed?
. Capacity of bowl, taking into account the amount that can be processed in the bowl as opposed to bowl capacity.
. Weight of the unit. Heavier units tend to be more stable but may be heavy to store, unless they can be left on benchtop. Weight of hand held units.
. Handle size on jug or bowl.
. Pouring lip on jug or bowl.
. Safety. Are there adequate safe guards to keep fingers away from blades?
. Size and clarity of controls. Controls should be easy to see and operate.
. Cord stow away may make storage easier.
. Plastic or glass jugs. Glass is heavy but is dishwater proof, plastic is
lighter but may not be dishwasher proof.
. Noise of unit.
. Range of speeds.
