Put mountain bike tyres on wheelchair (40mm thick).
Buy an extra inner tube - split and remove the valve. Wrap this around the mountain bike tyre. Let some air out of the tyre so the rubber tubing can be tucked in (held in place). Pump up tyre to achieve a smooth thick tyre. Also use thick front castors (45mm to 50mm).
