More Details
CONTROLS :
The lift has call stations at each level and key lockable controls within the car. The car has a telephone, emergency lighting, an alarm and provision for manual lowering in the event of power failure.

POWER :
The lift car is raised by a rotating ball screw driven by a .55kw electric brake motor and direct coupled gearbox. The standard unit is operated by 415v three phase power but is optionally available for use with 240v single phase power where required.

INSTALLATION :
This lift does not require a plant room. It can be installed directly on an existing concrete floor using a 100mm high ramp at the level 1 entry, or alternatively, can be fitted in a 100mm deep pit. The Type 2 lift requires a 100mm deep pit.

OPTIONS :
The Type 1 lift is available with 'constant pressure' pushbutton operation or as 'single impulse' (or automatic) operation.

SAFETY :
- The doors of the lift surround have safety interlocking, preventing lift travel unless all doors are closed and mechanically locked.
- The entrance to the lift car is protected by dual light beams which stop the car if interrupted.
- Emergency lighting automatically switches on in the event of power failure.
- The lift can be manually lowered in the event of a power failure.
- The lift is equipped with emergency telephone and an emergency alarm should power failure stop the lift between floors.

FINISH :
The car is lined with a double sided laminated panel of a colour of the client's choice. The car floor is covered with slip resistant matting.

SUPPLIER NOTES:
A budget estimate for the installed cost of a Type 1 lift, in Brisbane, where shaft complete with doors, services, fees and cranage are provided by 'others', is $27000. Estimates for the Type 2 lifts with the same conditions are $41000 (5300mm) and $46000 (6200mm).

Installation
In the ACT, the Scaffolding and Lifts Regulation 1950 requires the installer of the lift (the Lift Company) to submit a 'Notice of Intention to Erect or Alter a Lift'. This applies to all lifts including service lifts and disabled access lifts. All lifts that are installed in the ACT need to comply with the current Lift Code of Australia.

Once the lift is erected, the lift company will contact WorkCover to arrange a "pre-commissioning inspection and test " on the lift (both new and upgraded). WorkCover charges an initiation fee of $39.10 plus $26.65 per hour for this service. (This fee is revised regularly). There is no requirement for the owner to arrange an annual inspection. For more information, contact ACT WorkCover on 6205 0200.
