LifeTec Queensland offers a range of services:
• A display centre at Newmarket with over 1,500 items of assistive technology open to the public five days a week
• Community talks and displays for groups or expos
• An electronic database with information on more than 7,000 assistive technology products available in Queensland
• Enquiries line where you can speak to an occupational therapist or speech pathologist, with specific questions relating to assistive technology on 1300 885 886.
• Education and training on assistive technology and related topics to professional and community groups
• Consultations with an occupational therapist or speech pathologist to trial assistive technology solutions. Common topics for consultations include:
- Mobility Aids
- Wheelchair, pressure cushions and seating assessment
- Bathing, dressing and toileting aids
- Kitchen aids
- Computer access
- Home modification and design
- Voice Output Communication devices
- Beds and hoists
- Specialised seating including lounge or dining seating and children’s seating
- Environmental Control Units
